Chris Ritke Interviews FireANT’s Daniel Salber

49 media
Chris Ritke is in Amsterdam (I’m assuming for Vlog Europe) and he is doing some great interviews of vloggers and tool-makers. This week he interviewed Daniel Salber, the programmer of FireANT for Mac. When discussing how they decide what features should be in the software, Daniel says:

“Well, we listen to the users, that is where our inspiration comes from….We try to do our best to match their expectations.”

Head on over to the 49Media Podcast and listen to the full interview to get a better understanding of what is going on with one of the best pieces of vlog-centered software out there.

Mix Your Own Vlog Europe Interview

Since wearethemedia.com did not have the budget to send me over to Vlog Europe, I decided to do the next best thing and, inspired by a similar past effort by rocketboom, made the Vlog Europe Interview Remix Kit. Partipants in Vlog Europe are welcome to download the kit, fold, spindle, mutilate, and remix to make their own custom interview. We’ll link to the finished product once you post it.

FireANT: Growing Leaps and Bounds

ANT

Recently I had the opportunity to speak with Jay Dedman about the multimedia aggregator, FireANT. FireANT is a product that I use on a daily basis, and it has definitely made enjoying vlogs much easier and more accessible. This is especially true for people who lead busy lives (and who doesn’t?). In the interview, Jay discusses how FireANT has grown, and what goals they hope to accomplish in the future. One of the goals that Dedman has begun work on is helping to make the creators of FireANT more accessible through the implementation of two FireANT Yahoo! Groups. Dedman told me that “FireANT was just a dream for us last year….we built it to scratch our own itch…and it turns out a lot of other people were scratching as well.”

FireANT Yahoo Groups can be found at:

Jay Dedman Interviews Marc Canter

Marc Canter

While at the Blogher conference in San Fancisco, Jay Dedman interviewed Marc Canter about what is going on with Ourmedia. He addresses some of the recent problems, and also some of the recent developments that are on their way. Ourmedia is an amazing resource that, despite it’s kinks, is being worked on by many peope willing to donate their time, energy, and money. I love the fact that my media is mirrored in Amsterdam and Alexandria (let’s just hope that this archive in Alexandria doesn’t go the way of the last one there)

p.s. I love the Jay’s chuckling throughout the video!
