In his most recent post he interviews Mabel Yee, CEO of Picture Marketing, who discusses the future of technology and focuses in particular on how our culture will be impacted by media via the “Echo Boomer” generation. If you don’t know what an Echo Boomer is, or if you are one and want to find out how you will affect the world, check this out.

Link Love: My Picks of July ‘05
My brother has very recently been introduced to the world of Videoblogs and asked me which were my favorites. I decided that the best answer to this was to select my faves from the past month and give props to all of you out there making this great stuff. Stay tuned for weekly updates of my favorite vids.

Michael Verdi is one great vlogger. He is righteous and isn’t afraid to say so. He also makes really polished pieces. Check out my favorite posts of his this month, Yin and Seagull.

Josh Leo is incredibly endearing. Not only is he a great reporter here at WATM, but he is a great vlogger who puts out sensitive and revealing vids. Just check out his videos on his childhood and some really cool cows.

Raymond is incredibly adorable and also pretty darned righteous. He is great at asking open-ended questions for everyone to discuss in the vlogosphere. I hope to one day travel to Bergen, Seattle’s sister city, and visit him. In the mean time I will enjoy his vids I Can’t Dance Without Music and What Is A VideoBlog (a Question for All of You).

I Am Dooser is made by a high school senior navigating through life with the world in front of him. His viewpoint is profound at times, playful at others. Check out my favorites by him, Emotion and Vermicious Knid.

Bre is super sweet and spontaneous in his videos. He is often found interviewing artists and videobloggers about their work, but is also an incredibly creative artist who is always trying out a new medium. Check out my favorite vids by him, Frog Call, The I Love You Project, and Wallpaper.

Ryanne has made one of my all-time faves with her post To Prove A Point, and I can’t wait to see what she posts on the BlogHer conference. She kicks some serious bootie.

Clark has the most mesmorizing and hilarious serial posts out there with Ubel Knubel and Naked Friday. And don’t be surprised if you hear a little of the Tao Te Ching read while viewing. He also happens to be a brand-spanking-new WATM correspondent. I can’t wait for more vids on Ubel’s Velt!

Steve Garfield rules. Besides being a reporter for WATM he has about a million other projects out there and they’re all good. Check out his fantastic interviewing talents with Interviewing Tony Kahn He has created a number of useful instructionals on getting started like Videoblogging is a Continuum, How to start a Blogger Blog, and How to Subscribe to a Blog at Off On A Tangent. Finally, he has a great series called The Carol and Steve Show, which is made so his mom can see what he and his wife are up to.
These folks are awesome and I hope you enjoy these clips as much as I did!

Vlog Europe! Lingo

View Movie
As many of you know Vlog Europe is coming up, so dust off your language tapes and get ready to speak Dutch with Maximilian before heading over! I love this video for it’s honesty–I, too, tried to learn Dutch from a tape and found it incredibly difficult.
Check out this great post and then head over to Max’s brilliant site, where among other things you can join his Eband!

Electronic Vehicle Videoblog

Watch movie 1.2 min 5.1 MB
Have you ever wanted an electronic car but haven’t known all of the ins and outs of owning one? To find out what is involved follow Danny Fleet’s Electronic Vehicle Videoblog, Danny’s Contentment. Danny started posting videos this month, however the process of purchasing a car has taken much longer. I have to say that I am a little jealous of Danny; London has made it very convenient to use electric cars, even if the details are still being ironed out.
Check out this cool site and explore London from an EV point of view.

Underground Film: Steal This Disc

Watch movie 1.7 min 8.3 MB
OK, so Steal This Disc isn’t a vlog, but it is one of the funniest things I have seen recently on the web. Steal This Disc is actually an independent film written and directed by Nat Sigaloff and starring a very compelling Callard Harris as Brett Chase, who is dealing with the issues of video piracy. Check it out and, while you’re there, peruse the other independents.
Please Note: This video contains adult language. The opinions expressed in this film are not necessarily reflective of those at We Are The Media.

Channel 102 - Teen Homicide

Today I discovered Channel 102, which is actually more like an online video station than a vlog. Channel 102 started in February and features several five-minute shows that are screened before a live audience each month. Audience members vote on their faves and the least popular videos are abandoned for more popular vids.
My favorite is Teen Homicide, which shows a lot of promise as a kitchy and low-fi dark comedy about teen detectives.
You can submit your own pilot episode to Channel 102 by sending them a MiniDV.
Please Note: This video and others at Channel 102 contain mature content.
