A vlog-cano is about to erupt all over San Francisco June 10-11, and We Are the Media is happy to be part of the magma, as well as the media, at Vloggeron 2006. Much of the WATM crew will descend on the Bay Area and in the participatory spirit, we won’t just spectate, we’ll also make a spectacle of ourselves.
This is going to be a seething sea of lavalicious media mayhem, an embarrassment of participatory media riches, a passle of vlogtronic visionaries: from the Rocketboom Crew, to Winer, to Scoble, to the Public Address Network. From Yahoo to Blip.TV to Grouper. From Bev Sykes to Alison Lewis to Phatalspin. From the Boogie Down Bronx to Norway. From Faux Press to FireAnt. Every participant a maker of media, a crafter of tools, a wheeler of deals. Idealists, capitalists, exhibitors, and exhibitionists. Evil-utionaries, revolutionaries, revver-lutionaries and revloggers. Reporters, preachers, and teachers. Is that Yanni Goldthtein I see over there? Are you ready for the madneth? Are you ready to Ask a Ninja?. Do you need more? Check out this partial list of attendees. And then when you’re done with that, peep the the schedule of daytime events. As of this writing, VC06 is filling up fast so if you want to dive in to the pool of vlogsanity, click here to grab one of the last tickets.
(Update: Vloggercon is sold out!)
We Are the Media will be there to help you ride the wave of media meltdown. Look out for Josh Leo, who will hold forth on two panels: iMovie/FCP Tricks, and Mashups and Remixing for Vloggers. Steve Garfield will contribute to the Rocketboom-How We Got Here panel as well as the Community Vlogs event. Bre Pettis and Jonny Goldstein will be joined via the magic of web video by Clark Saturn on the Educators panel, and Gabe McIntyre will present the wonder that is XOLO.TV. Vlog stalwarts Matt Savarino (vlogmap.org), and Markus Sandy (Apperceptions) will also be repping We Are the Media at Vloggercon with their vlogtacular energies. And did I mention I, Jonny Goldstein, will be helping emcee day 2? Time to bust out the tux.
All panel and no party makes for a dull weekend, so We Are the Media will do its part to kick the it into fiesta mode by sponsoring not one, but two kegs of fermented malt beverage at the ClickTV party on Saturday night.
And of course, for those who can’t be at Vloggercon 2006 in person, we’ll be posting stories from the field. Be thou not afraid.
And it is said that you shall also be able to partake of the flowing streaming video and participatory chat rooms via the ethereal internets.
Verily, Vloggercon cometh and WATM covereth. And it will be good.

Thus saith the preacher, I shall be present but with no soap box. Amen.

Thanks. It took awhile to craft this assemblage of alliteration, links, and magma.

Aaron, I figured you were leaving the soap box at home. I just needed something that rhymed with “teacher,” and you popped into my head. Shalom, out.
