Serra Shiflett’s videostring is an online word magnet video game!
From the site:
“VideoString is an interactive Flash application that allows users to explore the evolution from written and spoken language to pictorial video communication by creating linear, syntactical, “sentences” out of short video clips.”
Serra talks about the site:
“As video production becomes widely accessible, it is important to consider the possible changes that will allow us to make the most out of this new form of mass communication. ”
I made a Water For Chocolate Movie. I couldn’t find the ‘like’ magnet, but it seems that it wouldn’t matter.
There are a lot of words in the game for making movies but Serra wants more.
She says, “This project will only grow with your help, and the help of your friends! At this point, the major thing missing is your videos. Are you frustrated with the lack of vocabulary? Make me a video for one of the words that isn’t represented yet! The complete word list is linked from the submit video menu. This is one place where you really can control your environment… to an extent
This will be a grassroots kind of project, and hopefully it will be pretty fun in the end.”
