Have you ever found yourself at a friends house with some footage that needs to be instantly seen by the world but find that your friend has no editing software installed? Have you ever wanted to do a spur-of the moment remix while using the computers at the public library? know someone with a camera who can’t afford editing software? Well this may be a solution to all those problems.
I have stumbled across two services that offer online video editing software for free! Both Eyespot and One True Media allow users to import clips, rearange, trim clips, add music and publish to your blog. This could be a quick and simple way to get people vlogging without needing really any knowledge of editing software. Another nice feature of these services is that you don’t need to worry about compression or hosting, since the video is already online!
I tested both of these services using the stock video and music provided on their sites. Read the rest of the most for my review
Eyespot test video Eyespot seems to be more user friendly in terms of actually getting a live-preview of clips as you edit them. I did however have some problems when I tried to preview the video after going back to re-edit it. Eyespot also seems to be better for sharing video with friends (including an option to send it to friends cell-phones!)
One True Media test video I did like the selection of music here (though I am not sure it is legal.) You cannot see the clips as you edit them, which is a big downside and since it doesn’t use a traditional “video timeline” like most programs, it can get a little confusing when putting clips together.
Overall, it seems like Eyespot is the better service for videobloggers because of it’s ease of use. However, everyone has their own preference, so go try one of these services and let us know what you think!

Looks great but you might want to try http://www.bobthevlog.com and how they are using a branded version of CoullVlogger, a new video blogging tool. Allows a user to simply insert video, audio, text and images within templates, which are then encoded and published to the Bobthevlog video content portal.

Eyespot is pretty cool, It’s wicked easy to use and pretty speedy for what it is doing in the back-end.
It’s too bad flash doesn’t do well with rss….or I could probably do without editing on the pc ever again and use eyespot.
We have a review page for eyespot at testinggrounds.loadedpun and it would be great to capture any user comments there as well.

I just started playing around with eyespot today. Do any of these online video editing services allow you to save the edited video on your computer? Hows about changing the play speed?
Thanks for any help.

OneTrueMedia.com allows you to download the video to your computer as an MPeg 4, or you can buy it on a DVD for $25.

I use One True Media and was wondering what you meant by “You cannot see the clips as you edit them” cuz I definitely could see the clips as I shortened them and lengthened them. And as soon as I did, I could preview them in the video with the music and everything. Would be pointless without that. Did you maybe just skip that screen?
