It’s no secret that videoblogging is spreading across the globe at a pretty fast pace. Vlogs are popping up in Europe, Africa, and even the Middle East. Turn around too quickly, and you might bump into one of us on the street. As a result of a growing need to collaborate with each other, members of the vlogging community are beginning to create their own groups which are so much more than just your everyday listserv. These are places to debate, explore, and learn about the medium of videoblogging. Recently Paul Knight, a vlogger in Nottingham, UK, decided to take matters into his own hands and establish a UK Videoblogging Group. I spoke to Paul about what drove him to do this, and he had this to say: “Quite simply, video blogging is growing in numbers over here, but we have no national identity. I have looked on Vlogmap, and they say there is only 35 videobloggers in the UK. Well let me assure you there are many others who…have gone out on their own. We are not pulling away, we are merely pulling together.”
There you have it. If you are a videoblogger who lives in the UK, and you have been searching for a way to connect on a more personal level with other videobloggers in your area, here’s your chance. Join up, participate, and make some movies!

“…and even the Middle East.”
What do you mean “and even” the Middle East?

I mean in a place where there is obvious turmoil in a number of places, there are people picking up cameras and showing us their lives regardless of that. Let’s not make an issue where there isn’t one, Matt. Thanks.

Well, at least they’re not as lonely as Malaysian vloggers.
