As I write this, vloggers frolic at Vlog Europe, socializing, presenting, listening, and of course, shooting lots of video. But they may not have time to edit what they shoot with all the above activities to occupy them. Enter Markus Sandy, who has created the Vlog Europe Press Pool which allows conference participants to upload their video, whereupon volunteer editors (yes, if you accept the challenge this means you!) can edit and remix the videos they find there. In fact anyone who has video related to the conference is invited to upload to the press pool, whether they are physically attending or not. The only condition is that all uploaded work should be licensed as attribution, noncommercial, share alike, via Creative Commons. This self-organizing collaborative approach seems especially well suited to the vlogosphere. I for one am excited to see what comes out of it.

Thanks for the mention Jonny. I’d like to also point out that the media pool list is available as an RSS feed that works in FireAnt and MeFeedia. Also, it is easy to “copy” the media pool to anyone’s blog without having to actually host the media. This is done much in the same way as one places a Flickr picture in a post. See the link to the pool in Jonny’s article for more info.
