Clark Boyd reports on the groundbreaking work that Raymond Kristiansen is doing in Norway, Vloggers get political in Norway:
“A video-blogger from Bergen in Norway is turning his camcorder on politicians, ahead of Norwegian parliamentary elections on Monday.
Twenty-seven-year-old Raymond Kristiansen weaves quickly in and out of the crowds of locals and tourists on the streets of Bergen. He carries with him a small, hand-held camcorder that seems like a natural extension of his arm.”

If Raymond isn’t a leader in vlogging, then who is? But that modesty schtick is endearing.

Norway is exciting like that, to be on the forefront of politics and videoblogging. Some folks are doing it here, but my impression is that Norwegian politicians are typically much more accessible than ours are. The royalty too, for that matter.
My experience in Norawy led me to believe that the political system is about ideas and doing things rather than about who spends the most on media campaigns and who can spread more Rove-style lies about the other. We need to cut the fat of our politics and be like that too here in the US.
