Are you a vlogger who has strong emotional feelings about vlogging? This nice little video over at 90 seconds of Dave explains the 5 Stages of Video Blogging.

I really like this video. How did he do that with the little cut out parts of his face? Thanks for posting this Graham. Welcome to WATM!

It is actually very easy if you are working in Final Cut. He just threw the mouth and eye footage overtop of his main shot in the timeline then cropped and scaled up the shots.
It looks like the whole video was created using a series of still shots. So when I say ‘easy’ I don’t mean to say that it didn’t take him a lot of time to contrust and craft his piece.

Graham thanks so much for posting a link to my movie! And yeah, you got it right about my editing techniques.
I made this with a series of quick hacks. I say quick, but it was at least 3 hours of editing. I did use still photos of my eyes, but the mouth is video footage that i speed up and then applied Final Cut Pro’s “Strobe” filter to, which essentially chops it into a series of still frames. The images are all cropped to show the base face underneath. Hardest part was sizing and lining up each face part, especially on the “Anger” section where each eye was done seperately.
Hope that’s not too much info! I love messing with little tricks like this. And I love WEareTHEmedia!

[…] Dave is amazing. Graham posted about his video where he made his face into a puzzle and since then he’s done a wide variety of stuff that I love. His cat is spellbinding and funny and his movie “What Am I” using footage from the Prelinger archive extremely cool. His journal animation from his movie, “Extraordinary Things” is also unmissable. The great thing about Dave’s videos is that they are all great. I could link to them all, but you should really go explore them yourself! […]

Fun! Last week, I posted a video in much the same vein… but with environments instead of a person.
