C’mon Antarctica!
There are only two continents left on the Vlogmap without vloggers. Though I highly doubt that there will ever be a vlog from Antarctica, I do hope that we get some representation from Africa. The USA has the most vloggers (104 on the map) but they are representing only 27 of the 50 states. Canada comes in second with 19, and the UK with 7. The total number of vlogs on the map total in at 166. As video blogging spreads throughought the world, I am sure we will see those numbers quickly grow.
Matt, the creator of vlogmap, gave us the inside scoop on the future plans for Vlogmap. He hopes to soon add thumbnails in the individual marker data and is looking into collaborating with Ro from Videoblogging-Universe to add “mini clips.” from people’s vlogs. It looks like things are really coming along over at Vlogmap, I know it has helped me identify vloggers in my area, as well as areas that I will be traveling to. So get on over to Vlogmap.org and find some vloggers near you and have a meetup!

WALK! Los Angeles With Me: Beat by the Heat

Follow “Lisa” around on her quest to see all of the streets in LA via her feet. She set out on May 15th and is still on the road, swearing that she won’t return until she has seen it all. Check it out and kick her some money to keep it going if you can! For info on the history of the project, go here.

Nordark

Danish video blogger Kristina Rapacki makes beautiful, expressionistic video art. Her work is a pleasant detour from the ubiquitous talking head, interview format of many vlogs.

I love the way he adds in layers into this video with the guitar fretboard and the keys in this Vlog Anthem. Link

Legal Guide for Bloggers (and Vloggers)
This may be old news to some of you, but The Electronic Frontier Foundation’s Legal Guide for Bloggers is a must read. Until the media establishment and everyone else wraps their head around vlogging and it’s cultural implications, citizen journalists will need to learn to protect themselves.
